Coordinating cage culture and FFPO teams

PRACTICAL AQUACULTURE GUIDES

Practical communication and responsibility planning for aquaculture teams and farmer groups.

Give every task an owner

List the work required and identify who coordinates each activity. For a cage culture project, planning, equipment, site work, farmer communication and records may involve different people.

Use a regular project update

A short update can cover completed work, current issues, documents needed and the next steps. Keep it tied to the actual site and avoid repeating promotional descriptions in place of progress information.

Make group decisions visible

For an FFPO or farmer group, keep a clear record of discussions and responsibilities. Share action notes in a format members can access and understand, using the language appropriate to the group.

Connect training with daily work

Ask the technical team to explain operating routines and how questions should be raised. Record the topics discussed and the follow-up support required; attendance alone does not demonstrate an operational outcome.

Report progress accurately

Use dated records and captioned photographs when available. Keep plans, ongoing activities and completed work clearly distinguished. Where figures or results have not been confirmed, request the supporting record before publishing them.
